Operational Risk Management Techniques Seminar
Identifying, addressing, and managing risks within the airport environment are crucial to safety management. Operational Risk Management is based upon a proven six-step process for assisting front-line and leadership personnel. This seminar covers some past methods used in aviation safety programs and introduces the ORM process. Participants will practice each ORM step using real case studies and current operational issues.

• Cover the basic tenets of the FAA Advisory Circular on Safety Management Systems
• Provide insight to using these techniques for safe operations

• Provide an understanding of how airport safety and operational issues affect risks
• Incorporate activities and case study experiences

• Learn a six-step process for managing risks
• Understand techniques for implementing ORM at their facility
Discussion will cover how ORM principles can be coordinated with a Safety Management System (SMS) program as described the February 2007 FAA Advisory Circular.
