Airfield Operations Area Expo & Conference Addresses Tough Challenges at 2006 Event

Exclusive aviation show takes hard look at operations on private and public airfields

Fort Atkinson, WI (March 8, 2006) -- The 2nd Annual Airfield Operations Area (AOA) Expo & Conference, the only show that address all disciplines of airfield operations, opens April 9th through the 11th at the Four Points Sheraton in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The event focuses exclusively on challenges that affect airfield performance such as runway improvement, pavement types, local condition forecasting, friction testing, signage, snow removal, lighting, perimeter fencing, safety, security and more. The conference launched in 2005 attracting over 350 industry professionals interested in sharing their concerns, gain insight into solving problems and preview new products and equipment for the airfield operations area.

Annual Airfield Operations Area (AOA) Expo & Conference, is produced and managed by AIRPORT BUSINESS Magazine, a property of Cygnus Business Media and part of the Cygnus Aviation & Transportation Group made up of leading magazines - AIRPORT BUSINESS, Ground Support and Aircraft Maintenance Technology and the annual Aviation Industry Expo.

"Our premiere event showed the great need for maintenance, engineering and operations managers to be provided an exclusive forum for their discipline," says Holly Hoffer, AIRPORT BUSINESS magazine publisher. "The AOA exhibitor community experienced productive meetings with qualified buyers from across the country and Canada. Many surveyed said they received high quality sales leads and 96% of the exhibitors planned to return this year."

Conferences scheduled for this year’s event focus on current issues of concern for managers including airport security and safety, airfield pavement design, construction and maintenance, runway condition reporting, friction testing, snow and ice removal, driver training, disaster/emergency planning, security, access control, and weather management. Exclusive to the event is the ability for vendors to showcase large equipment for inspection.

"Exhibit space is available inside and outside," says Show Manager Karen Reinhardt. "Decision-makers can not only view products and equipment for their airport, they can test it and gain a better understanding of operations and what can be accomplished."

AOA Expo offers a comprehensive look at all disciplines of the Airfield Operations Area (AOA) while providing an opportunity for vendors in all aspects of AOA to present, demonstrate and discuss their products and services through both indoor and outdoor exhibits. Sponsors include Myslik Co., Oshkosh Truck, Sherwin Industries and United Rotary Brush.
