Preliminary Sessions
The following are the preliminary sessions lined up for this year's AOA Expo:

A discussion on the pilot's perspective on runway friction including procedures, processes and issues from a very distinguished and experienced panel. The discussion will then be opened up to the audience for questions and answers on operators' issues/questions/challenges. - Airport Pavement Maintenance and Management - Donna Speidel, Sightline AMC, Jo Lary Pavement Consultants Inc. - GPS/GIS for supporting effective airfield safety, operations and maintenance - Paul Cudmore, General Manager, Eagle Integrated Solutions
Learn about the latest in GPS/GIS technology now being applied to support a more safe and efficient operating environment on the airfield. From FAR Part 139 right through to detailed lighting, pavement and incursion aspects for airfield operations, these technologies are allowing for incredible improvements in daily duties, and allowing for more thorough and comprehensive reporting, analysis and subsequent improvement than thought possible before. - Evaluating Products Used at Florida Airports - Richard Duley, CPM, Director, Florida Aviation Test Center, Tallahassee
The Florida Aviation Test Center is a new facility funded by the Florida Department of Transportation for the purpose of performing research and testing of aviation issues and products. Presentation will be made as to what is currently being tested at the center and how companies can provide their products for consideration. Companies can currently provide their products at no charge for an observation evaluation. - Automated Airfield Surface Condition Monitoring and Reporting - speaker to be announced

- Utilizing Solar Powered Lighting - Marc Christensen, Managing Member, Off the Wall Products LLC
Temporary solar powered lighting during construction and maintenance. - Aircraft Recovery Operations - George Vickas, P3 Technologies
- Security and Access Control - Ken Vondrasek, Cernium Consulting Firm
- Wildlife Management at Airports - Daniel L. Hirchert, Asst. District Supervisor/Wildlife Biologist USDA-APHIS-WS
Techniques that will help airport personnel recognize wildlife safety issues and reduce the likelihood of aircraft/wildlife conflicts will be discussed - ARFF - Pro-Tec Fire Services, Bill Ewing, Director Corporate Services/Deputy Fire Chief
- Disaster Planning - Jim McCue, Airport Consultant, Sherwin Industries and invited panelists
Six disasters will be depicted with footage many have not seen. The last segment is of a full scale disaster exercise conducted at Indianapolis Int'l Airport. McCue was part of the NTSB "Go Team" on two of the disasters.
