What are the dates of the event?
September 3-5, 2022. Weekend campers can arrive after 5 pm on September 2 for setting up only.
What time does the event start?
The expo officially begins at 10:00 am Saturday, September 3rd, 2022.
What can I expect from this event?
Our mission is to make this an amazing weekend where those who love the outdoors can meet others within the community, learn new skills for adventuring, and have access to the companies that have the tools and knowledge for the job!
Is this a family-friendly event?
Yes! Bring the whole family as there will be AOA Expo activities as well as dedicated kid’s events sponsored by some of our vendors.
Is this a pet-friendly event?
Yes! Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash while away from their primary campsite. There are horses in the area so all dogs must be able to act accordingly around both wild and farm animals.
Is Alcohol Permitted?
Yes, but consumption of alcohol is permitted only within campsites and in the beer gardens. No alcohol is to be brought on the roads, or within the vendor area.

What if the weather turns?
There will be covered areas for those wanting to socialize around the venue, including a covered dance hall and grandstand seating area. We recommend having an umbrella handy if you wish to still walk the vendor area.
What type of shoes should I have?
The grounds are extremely large, especially in outlying areas like the McLeod river and Archery range. Please ensure you have good footwear to walk on gravel, rock, and grass.
What happens if there is another provincial lockdown?
Vendors and guests will receive a 100% money-back guarantee.
Can I bring my ATV to get around the grounds?
No, these machines will not be allowed for use around the grounds by attendees. Instead, we recommend bringing a bike to get around the grounds. If you require a mobility scooter for your daily mobility purposes please contact our team and we will work with you to ensure you can enjoy the weekend.
What happens if I lose something at the Expo?
The AOA Expo does not accept responsibility for any lost, stolen, or damaged property while at the event. We encourage everyone to keep valuables in their person or in a secure area.
What happens if I buy a ticket and cannot attend or change my mind about attending?
100% refunds will be provided until July 31, 2022, at 11:59 pm. 50% refunds will be provided from August 1, 2022, at 12:00am to August 21, 2022, at 11:59 pm. 0% refunds will be provided on August 22, 2022, at 12:00am or later.

What kinds of kid-friendly activities will be at the event?

Where can I see the scheduled classes and demonstrations?
Please see our “Schedule” tab. This schedule is live and subject to change up to, and during, the expo as needed. Communications will be provided.
How will I be notified of changes?
We have a PA system that we will use within the expo grounds, as well as an SMS system to send you to live text updates.
Where is fishing allowed?
Catch and release fishing is available at the trout pond as well as in the McLeod River. (A fishing license is required).
What trail rides are planned?
Beginner and advanced trail rides to Brule have been planned. Waivers will be required prior to participating. Beginner run is expected to be 4-5 hours. The advanced run is expected to be 6 hours.
What sort of camping area can I expect at the expo?
You have three area choices, forest, lake, or open area.
What are the quiet hours?
The quiet hours are 1:00 AM to 7:00 AM, security will be around to ensure all fires are put out by 2:00 AM
What happens if there is a fire ban?
Propane fire pits are an alternative option and will be used for the group bonfire if a fire ban is in effect.
What do I do when I arrive at the event?
Security will greet you at the entrance. Please have your confirmation email/ticket ready to be scanned. You will then be guided to the camping area of choice or the day parking area.
WEEKEND AND DAY PASSES:
What does my day pass include?
A day pass is needed for each person who would like to attend the event on Saturday or Sunday. It will give you access to all the vendors and scheduled activities planned throughout the day.
What hours are day passes allowed to be at the Expo?
10:00 AM-6:00 PM
What does my full weekend camping pass include?
The weekend pass gives you access to expo grounds for Friday evening after 5:00 pm (for arrival and set up only), Saturday, and Sunday night. It will give you access to all the vendors and scheduled activities planned throughout the weekend. You will also be entered into all AOA Expo giveaways throughout the weekend, but you must be present to receive them.
When can I arrive if I am camping for the weekend?
Admission to the grounds will be available Friday 5:00-8:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am-8:00 pm.
What if I am not attending the full weekend, but still camping for a night or two, will my ticket be discounted?
No, weekend passes are a set price and will not be cheaper should you spend fewer nights camping at the Expo.
When do weekend pass campers need to leave the grounds?
Weekend campers are not required to leave the grounds until Monday morning. We ask that all attendees have cleaned their camping area, placed their garbage in the bins provided, and are gone from the grounds by 10:00 am for staff to begin to clean up.
MEDICINE LODGE RODEO GROUND AND FACILITIES:
How do I get to the Medicine Lodge rodeo grounds?
Heading West from Edmonton - stay on the Yellowhead Highway (16) for 242 km.
Heading East from Jasper - stay on the Yellowhead Highway (16) for 122 km.
Turn right onto Range Road 213 watching for flags and signs for A.O.A.E. on the highway. Travel approximately 1.5 km to the gate following the directional signs.
Google Maps has the direction correct when you type in “Medicine Lodge Rodeo Grounds”.
What facilities are provided at the rodeo grounds?
Access to potable water, and bathroom facilities. There is minimal firewood that can be found around the grounds.
Is there power onsite?
There is no power or Wi-Fi available for attendee use, however, there is good cell service in most areas.
What payment methods are available at the expo?
The AOA Expo services accept cash or card. Vendors will each have their own means of accepting payments. No ATM is available on site.
What is the speed limit at the Medicine Lodge Rodeo Grounds?
The speed limit is 10 km/hr (crawl speed) as there will be adults and children walking around the grounds.
Will there be food services on-site?
Yes! We have food trucks attending the event!
What is there for kids?
There is a large playground available for use anytime as well as daily activities to enjoy!
